Woshibai
One of my favourite comics artists working today is Woshibai (Tumblr), based in Shanghai. I can't remember where I first came across his drawings, but I have been following his Tumblr for a very long time. His style is very minimalist but precise, usually one or two panels, each with a gnomic caption. Occasionally he posts slightly longer stories too.
His books have mostly been published by French publishers, but 20 km/h was published by Drawn & Quarterly in the anglophone world.
On his blog he posted photos of an interview he did with the Japanese magazine the Eastern Observer which was fascinating for its insight into Chinese comics culture.
